Pub guide in no particular order.
This is only an opinion of pubs and drinking establishments around 'The Arsenal' or within walking distance of Highbury.
The Bailey
Holloway Road
Top pub. Full of regular 'Gooners' on a match day. A very civilised horse shoe shaped bar. Thai Food in this pub is of superb quality. A separate company run the food franchise and value for money is good. Good range of beers but this is not the cheapest pub around.
Nearest Tube - Highbury and Islington
Distance from the Ground - 15-20 mins walk.
The Famous Cock
Highbury and Islington Corner
Very popular pub next door to the tube station. Beer is expensive but people like it. Food is good and well priced. 2 for £7 meals. If food is needed, get there early as this pub does get busy in the 90 mins before kick off.
Nearest Tube - Highbury and Islington
Distance from the Ground - 15 mins walk.
The White Swan
Highbury and Islington Corner
Based next to the Famous Cock the White Swan is a Wetherspoons pub and therefore has everything you would expect. Big rooms, cheap food even cheaper beer and therefore very busy.
Nearest Tube - Highbury and Islington
Distance from the Ground - 15 mins walk.
Highbury Barn
Highbury Park Road
It's not a barn, but it is in Highbury. An Arsenal post-match favourite. A very busy pub and people do drink outside. A tarted up interior offers the usual beers plus a big screen, food (pizza). An upper class pub that wants to be a football pub.
Nearest Tube - Arsenal/ Highbury and Islington
Distance from the Ground - 5-10 mins walk.
The Bank of Friendship
Blackstock Road
Big pub, good atmosphere and full of regulars. They started having a membership policy but this was 3 or 4 years ago but have not been there since. Beer is good

The Woodbine
Blackstock Road
Quality pub - just redone, One of my regulars and a good atmosphere in here. Average prices and no food but has a free jukebox (if you can get past Raspberry to get to it!). Most of the regulars in here you will see at grounds all over the country. Has a large England flag with woodbine on it that appears at England and Arsenal away games.
Nearest Tube - Arsenal
Distance from the Ground - 5 mins walk.
Cannon Club
Blackstock Road
Next to the Woodbine. Top place, good atmosphere but opening times are odd. Is a private club but £1 gets you in. Loads of songs playing loud all the Arsenal classics, if you see it open get yourselves in there.
Nearest Tube - Arsenal
Distance from the Ground- 5 mins walk.
The Arsenal Tavern
Blackstock Road
A big pub three rooms, very popular, sells your regular beers. Very good to watch Arsenal matches in if you cannot get a ticket or for matches away or in Europe.

The Gunners
Blackstock Road
A big Arsenal pub filled with Arsenal memorabilia and Arsenal everywhere. A very busy pub on a match day and lots of atmosphere. There are 3 or 4 pubs in the area and therefore people stand on the pavements and in the road (which is closed) and a mini carnival of red shirts happens! A great pub to watch matches in if you cannot get a ticket.
Nearest Tube - Arsenal
Distance from the Ground- 5 mins walk.
The Kings Head
Blackstock Road
Almost a second home of some of the South Wales 'gooners'. A small tucked away pub with the same crowd in there every week. I have been informed that the Guinness is the best around but the lager and cider are good too. (Thanks JK) One of the only pubs without Sky, which is a shame, but good bar staff and friendly people in the pub. Prices on average are £2.50 for a pints, which is good around these parts.
